My last two months have been broken up into one month St Lucia and one month Barbados

This web site chronicles my adventures in the Caribbean. As much as all of you think I am on a 6 month vacation I must emphasize that I am here to work... although I will play from time to time.

Mission

My mission is simple... to travel the Caribbean Island states of Grenada, Antigua, St Lucia and Barbados. In Grenada and Antigua, for each hotel/guest house visited, I share my IT skills with selected staff. This work may range from the basic use of mouse and keyboard to web and database development. In return for my work, the hotels cover my living expenses including food. Its a good arrangement. I work standard days and get evenings and weekends off.

My work in St Lucia and Barbados however is slightly different. On these islands my mission is to gather information and pictures on the local sites and attractions. Eventualy, this information will be made available on a website called CarribeanExperiences.

Who sent me

This opportunity was presented to me by VSO Canada (Volunteer Service Overseas) in colaboration with Netcorps Canada and the Organisation of American States. The OAS created STEP (Small Tourism Enterprise Project).

The IT work I am doing over the six months is on a voluntary basis. Although most of my expenses (travel and lodging) are covered by the organisations, I am given a very modest pay to cover some of my other expenses.

Traveling Man

I can never get bored of my surroundings since I am in a new place weekly... Every stop I make I make a new friend, can't stay for long cause then I am off again...kind of like the "Littlest Hobo" except I am not a German Shepard traveling accross North America ;)
